file under = bad idea. Metal version of “Such Great Heights” by the Postal Service.
UGH. i suppose it’s a testament to how great this song is that this band can kick it in the face repeatedly and it’s still listenable at times. just awfulness.
Being a child of the 90s (primarily), it was very surprising for me to discover that Trio’s “Da Da Da [etc.]” is from the 80s. I know it, of course, from the Volkswagen commercial that came out in the 90s, and it just sounded so much like a 90s song—ironic, silly, cute, cheap, retro—that it didn’t even occur to me that it might actually be an old song. Of course, it would sound pretty current if it came out today, too! But it makes sense, now, that it’s an 80s song; around about 1985, Billboard might as well have started a whole separate “Dinky and German” chart.
Oh, and the video is extremely weird, by the by. Enjoy being creeped out by Germans!
a very strange video. agreed.

Superchunk - Crossed Wires.
Great Song, Great Video.
BTW…I do believe that the new Superchunk album is their best ever. Seriously.

This song overtook my subconscious for about a week, by which I mean it kept creeping back into my head. I actually listened to it so much I knew the words in like an hour or two. Also, the video is cool.
