dawsie: tell me a funny story tyson...
tyson: ok. give me a second to think of one.
dawsie: k.
tyson: so...before i moved to florida i worked at Adronics in hays for about 5 months to save money for school. i got the job because my friend John worked there and he said he liked it.
tyson: Adronics assembled car radio antennas for some auto company...don't know which one.
tyson: in some departments there were people like john and even some college students (i was 20 at the time)...i was put into the "molding" department which was made up of old weirdos, burnouts, and the people that seemed like they wouldn't play well with others...and for whatever reason i was put back there.
tyson: the job itself was pretty whatever...we would make rubber/plastic moldings in presses and clean them (there was always rubber/plastic overflow on them)...but it was super boring and repetitive and KJLS blared continually so it was very frustrating.
tyson: so...i didn't really fit in with the people in molding (we were shoved in the back...away from normal people).
tyson: being as i didn't really look like i fit in with anyone else there (i didn't), it was probably 2 weeks before i actually talked to anyone on my "team". as you know, i'm a social person...and not chatting EVER is kind of a pain to me.
tyson: so...finally i started to this tweaker kid (my first meth head friend!) and he was kinda cool (except the meth part) so slowly he integrated me into the group o' weirdos.
tyson: anyway...there was this chick that worked there that was rude as shit to me all the time, immediately from day one.
dawsie: (loving this so far)
tyson: she was not an attractive woman. in fact...i think she was so shitty to me because for awhile i was lower than her on the food chain...and abused people tend to be abusive...blah blah blah.
tyson: not attractive = surprisingly ugly. anyway...
tyson: about 6 weeks into working there i'm sitting across from her and tweaker boy at the presses and tweaky is giving her a ton of shit about everything. and she's laughing like "we're friends and he's giving me shit...what an asshole" and i'm listening and smiling (while working) and it's pretty funny.
tyson: then tweak turns to me and says "she's so ugly! she's so ugly that that she used to work in the circus as the snake lady!"
tyson: so...trying to be jovial but not offensive (because i don't want her to hate me anymore than she already does) i say "oh wow...you like handling snakes? i'm not a snake person."
tyson: and tweaky says "No dude...she WAS the snake lady. like they had the body of a snake and she would put her head in the hole where it's head should be...she was one of the sideshow freaks."
tyson: at this point she's like "SHUT UP TWEAK!"...but still laughing...
tyson: and i was impressed at how tweak managed to take a "your so ugly" joke and turn it into something so crazy that it's somehow not offensive anymore.
tyson: so...tweak leaves...it's just me and the girl there and she's stopped laughing. so...in an attempt to keep the conversation going (and hoping that now we are at least civil with each other) i say "you know...i always thought it would be fun to work in the circus."
tyson: she looked at me and said "it wasn't a circus, it was a carnival!" and stormed off.
tyson: and that was that.
tyson: true story.
dawsie: HAHAHA! what did this teach you?
tyson: i don't think i learned anything from that.
dawsie: exactly :)
